History Begins May 12th in Gaelic Park @ 7 P.M.

Bronx, NY–The Hoboken Guards Hurling Club will open their 2011 New York Gaelic Athletic Association Junior Hurling Championship Season against the Shannon Gaels (AKA Queens) this Thursday, May 12th, 7 p.m. at Gaelic Park on the campus of Manhattan College in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.

Results will be posted to hobokenhurling.com.

For folks training it up to the park from Manhattan, take the 1 train to the 238th Street stop – it’s the second to last stop on the line.

Please note that team members have been invited to Randal Og’s Bar on 171 West 231st Street for food after the match. Fans and supporters of the Guards are invited to join us.

Win or lose, the Guards will celebrate their first ever official championship match in club history, as well as the inaugural game to be played by a mixed Irish and American hurling team from New Jersey.
